Cleared DevOps Engineer

Bestgate Engineering is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support the development and sustainment of a reliable, highly available platform that orchestrates microservices within a modernized operational system using cutting edge technologies. This role is ideal for a cleared DevOps professional with strong automation, cloud, and container orchestration experience supporting mission critical environments.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 9+ years of professional experience; or 7 + years with a related Master’s degree.
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code and automation scripting using python.
  • Experience patching, hardening, and maintaining compliance of RHEL systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker Compose, Nifi, and cloud native logging and metrics tools.
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab runners and Argo CD.
  • Experience supporting AWS cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within a team-oriented environment.
  • Current Security+CE certification.
  • ​​​​Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with Polygraph required.
Desired Skills:
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, Event Router, Athena, and Step Functions using Terraform and auto scaling.
  • Understanding of AWS networking principles including VPCs, NATs, and IP Gateway.
  • Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime.
  • Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS, ECS, and/or Fargate.

Salary Range:
$150,000 - $220,000

The final offer will be determined after carefully considering the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to the position. This range is intended as a reference point and is subject to change.
